Even some well-known carmakers are investing in their stocks. Also, there is Amazon with 700 million push for development. Having all this in mind, Rivian seems to be a promising idea.

Still, the carmaker is yet to launch its first production model. However, their concepts are stunning. The 2021 Rivian R1T Electric Pickup Truck is eye-catching and modern, but not too minimalistic. The concept we saw a few months ago seems like something very close to the production model. But, there are a lot of other questions before Rivian officially enters the pickup market. At this point, we believe the 2021 Rivian R1T Electric Pickup Truck is coming out late in 2020. The carmaker will probably aim the LA auto show. Price for the 135-kW model will start at $69,000. Interesting, the company will sell the R1S SUV for $3,000 more. Still, you can count on $7,500 tax credit and additional $1,000 discount by the company. We still don’t know how much the 400-mile range version is going to cost.

The competition in the electric market is not existing. Well, all the things about these trucks are speculations. The R1T is not out yet. In twelve months Tesla and Ford will make the first moves. Tesla sets the electric truck as a priority with the roadster car. On the other hand, Ford is a leader in the pickup market thanks to its F-150. Soon, this model will hit one million sales per annum, and the electric model will help it achieve this number faster.

Expectations

As said, electric power is the future of the automotive industry. Rumors about these kinds of vehicles are louder every day. However, the major concern is efficiency when it comes to heavy load towing. Hybrid engines are not capable of hauling. In a year or so, fans can expect more upgrades on electric motors so we can get working trucks with everything a conventional unit could offer now.
