Silverado has problems in the half-ton segment. The emergency started in the second quarter of 2019 when Ram 1500 overtook he second best-selling record. The situation is alarming and the GM is trying not to make the same mistake in other classes. That is why we see the High Country package for the heavy-duty truck.
Interior of the 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD High Country is pretty dark. The overall look is old-school and it brings us back to the 90’s. On the other hand, buttons and functions are advanced, so we have a start/stop feature, an eight-inch display, and Chevy MyLink radio. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather. There is enough space inside the cabin since the package is available only with the Crew cab configuration.
Outside, we will find 20-inch wheels and special tailgate. Bumpers are in the same color as the body. Assist steps are also part of the package, as well as the spray-on bedliner. Well, the first one is one of the most capable units in the market with 910 lb-ft of torque and towing capacity that exceeds 30,000 pounds. The Duramax unit also adds 445 horsepower and it is on par with its main rivals – Powerstroke and Cummins. Transmission for this one is a 10-speed Allison gearbox.
If you choose a petrol drivetrain, the power router is a 6-speed transmission. It can deliver 400 hp and 465 pound-feet of twisting power. The transmission offers overdrive gear and auto grade braking.
Other Trim Levels
The 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD High Country is top of the lass trim with the price tag over $63,000 (petrol). If this is too expensive for you, there are other options available for build. The base model is coming with the Double Cab and Standard Bed, plus the LT trim. The cost of this build is just over $40k. There are also LTZ and WT packages available with multiple additions. Crew Cab increases the price by two grands.
For the High Country, the 4WD is standard and the pricing starts at $63,000. Duramax diesel engine adds $10,000 more. Notable packages available with this trim level are High Country Deluxe and Technology suite with rear camera mirror and HD surround vision. Z71 adds special suspension, skid plates, and a hill descent control system, in case you need the truck for off-road work. With all upgrades, the 2020 Silverado 2500HD High Country could reach the cost of $79,000.
