Korean automobile giant Hyundai Motors has ambitious plans for 2018 and subsequent years, as is becoming evident from its new moves. It is known more for its stylish SUVs and sleek sedans, but the company is all set to bulldoze its way into the pickup truck segment. The 2019 Hyundai Santa Cruz truck which was showcased earlier is going to enter production phase. It is likely to be unveiled in 2018 as the 2019 model, as per industry updates. The stylish pickup, when released, will battle it out with the rivals like Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma. Most likely it will be manufactured at the company’s Montgomery plant.
2019 Hyundai Santa Cruz – Stylish Exterior and Interior Design
There is no way you can overlook the stylish and aggressive design of 2019 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup. The vehicle, dubbed as the company by a lifestyle pickup will have the Unibody architecture used in the company’s Tucson compact crossover. There will be some changes to the final version of the truck compared to the concept version. Not much is clear about the cabin of the Hyundai Santa Cruz but given its lifestyle pickup tag- it is likely to be lavishly adorned. Amenities like dual zone climate control and plush upholstery may be included. It is likely to be sold in a number of trims.
2019 Hyundai Santa Cruz – Powerful Engine and Performance
There are speculations regarding which power train will be used in the 2019 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup. As per industry sources, both gasoline and diesel engine may be used. Chances are there Hyundai will use a new four-cylinder turbo diesel unit in the pickup. Both FWD and AWD will be offered for the model.
Not much is known about the spec to be used in the upcoming Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup. However, it is expected to be equipped with top safety features and amenities will also be adequate. You can expect features like anti lock brakes, traction control, airbags and rearview camera etc. However, advanced safety options may come at extra cost.
2019 Hyundai Santa Cruz – Price and Availability
While exact time of release is not known, the 2019 Santa Cruz Pickup will be made available for sale sometimes in late 2018. The pricing will start at $25000 and top trim price could be around $32000, as per the updates. This is on par with pricing of segment rivals like Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado.
The upcoming Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup is going to be an important vehicle for the South Korea based auto giant. It is not the first time a carmaker is dealing with a car-based pickup, as it is. Earlier Honda dabbled into it and tasted moderate levels of success with Ridgeline.
However, there is no denying the body-on-frame type compact pickups like Chevrolet Colorado are more popular. The styling of the Santa Cruz is compelling and Hyundai is going to use a new powertrain-which should work in its favor. If the pricing is done competitively, there is no reason for the Hyundai Santa Cruz 2019 not to give the Ridgeline and other rivals a run for their money.
